On the day of Judgement the Prophet will lodge the following complaint.
"Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense."
May Allah (Glory be to Allah, The Most High) protect us from this and enable us to read, understand and follow the Quran only.
If this Quran confirms the previous scriptures why we do not have our 'sabbath' day? We take Friday and ignoring Sabbath.
About Sabath , God mentions :
32:4
God is the One who has created the heavens and the earth, and what is between them in six days, then He settled upon the Throne. You do not have besides Him any lord, nor intercessor. Will you not then remember?
Timescale is mentioned to sync His message with a human experience : time and space. There is an amount of time is required to do anything.
سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ
"Sittat 'Ayaam"
Can be six days or period.
An therafter God Settled upon the throne is not due to fatigue. But guiding mankind when to take a break.
Read
50:38
"And We have created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and no fatigue touched Us."
For God does not need to rest. God Wills creation : be and it is. Time is mentioned to show man a certain amount of period required to do anything on earth. And to settle on the Throne means...

God requires mankind to rest or have a holiday on Saturday.. Holy +day.
But mankind do otherwise. Kept working on Sabbath day!
7:163
"And ask them about the town which was by the sea, after they had transgressed the Sabbath; their fish would come to them openly on the day of their Sabbath, and when they are not in Sabbath, they do not come to them! It is such that We afflicted them for what wickedness they were in."
2:65
"You have come to know who it was among you that transgressed the Sabbath, We said to them: "Be despicable apes!"
Simply showing man that he needs time to do anything
So have a rest on Saturday?
"Yawmul jumma"means day of gathering. Scholars conveniently took this jumua as friday prayers and do away with Sabbath.
62:9
O you who believe, if the prayer is called to on the day of congregation, then you shall hasten towards the remembrance of God, and cease all selling. This is better for you, if only you knew.
62:10
Then, once the prayer is complete, you shall disperse through the land and seek the provisions of God, and remember God frequently that you may succeed.
62:11 And if they come across any trade, or some entertainment, they rush to it and leave you standing! Say: "What God possesses is far better than entertainment or trade. And God is the best Provider."
This apply to Friday special prayer, then 62:9 to 11 also apply to the other daily prayers in congregation Think, think think...
Friday prayer is not a replacement for Sabath. Both are different 'laws' to be followed. Did God says Friday prayer is a replacement for Sabbsth and not to follow Sabbath?
Do not miss out your Sabbath by working on Saturday. Or your provisions will be affected and you're subject to 7:163. and 2.65 .
62:5
The example of those who were given the Torah, but then failed to uphold it, is like the donkey that is carrying a cargo of books. Miserable indeed is the example of the people who denied the revelations of God. And God does not guide the wicked people.
Hope we are not donkeys! 🤣
